Standing Up for SNAP in the Nation’s Capital
Florida Impact recently joined hundreds of anti-hunger advocates in Washington, D.C. for the Food Research and Action Center’s (FRAC) Anti-Hunger Policy Conference. During this inspiring gathering, we participated in workshops centered on amplifying the voices of marginalized communities, advocating effectively in conservative jurisdictions, and addressing the harmful impacts of anti-immigration policies on food access.
We were proud to stand alongside our partners from United Way of Palm Beach County and Poverty Solutions Group in a series of impactful meetings with key legislative offices, including those of Senator Rick Scott, Senator Ashley Moody, Congressman Maxwell Frost, Congressman Brian Mast, and others. Our message was clear: Protect SNAP. We urged lawmakers to reject the proposed $230 billion in cuts to SNAP over the next decade. SNAP is a lifeline—it lifts families out of poverty, combats hunger, and strengthens Florida’s economy.
This fight isn’t over. We need your voice. Contact your federal legislators today and urge them to protect SNAP funding and stand with Florida’s families. |
